What are some good native american last names?
we don't traditionally have last names. most today are like anyone else except maybe some of the western nations. but seriously, i know lakota with the last name of Yellow Boy and Le Beau. lots of natives have french last names especially in the north because of the french trappers and traders. seems many have a frenchman in the woodpile somewhere.


i consider my real name to be the one given to me by my clan when i was a child. my other anglo name is just used for anglo purposes, i suppose..records etc.

"blackstone' is an old english last name. Came from working on the roads there.

For 'us' the whole idea of a 'last name' is relatively NEW.

Reply:I'm half Cherokee %26amp; My family name was Johnson. I think only the tribes on the reservation have authentic names like Running Bear or Soaring Eagle.
