I need to know about the history of how native americans name their kids.?

Each clan or tribe usually have their own rites and traditions on naming their children. Some give them two names, one Native American, [usually having a specific meaning], and another, which may be Anglican/European.

I know that the Navajo [who call themselves 'Denai' = 'people' or 'the people' ] do this, I have been told.

Which tribe? Which nation? At which point in history?

This question is like asking about the history of how Europeans name thier kids. But they don't do the same now as in 1500; and the Irish don't have the same naming patterns as the Italians. Entire books have been written on the topic.

Likewise, the Cheyenne don't use same naming practices as the Navajo, and neither group are the same as the Mohawks, etc., etc. Furthermore, the way things are done now are probably very different than they were say, 300 years ago.
Reply:Usually native americains name there offsprings after the drugs they smoke however they are usually prononced diffently due to the inhalation of these substances.
