So I am looking for the name of a female Native American singer. Had a video out in the early 90's. The only part I remember was that there was a men's fancy dancer dancing on one side of an ice wall and at some point he beats down the wall with sticks. She's singing on the other side. This visual was important to the song. This was a pop song. Not traditional music. Made the top 10 on the Native music charts. I saw it on Much music and I had wrote down her name, but I lost it over the years. I'm actually looking for the video. I have been racking my brain to to remember her name. I swear she had a two part last name, like Youngblood, or Yellowbird, something like that. After that, I'm completely blank. Any ideas????

unfortunately the NAMMY's started up in 98. And there are no chart listings before that. I'll keep looking.

I THINK I FOUND IT!! it's 2 videos, they must have run a block of them. The first has the ice wall, the second has the fancy dancer.

Reply:doubt it but the only one i can think of at the moment is Joanne Shenandoah. the video is thrownig me off though...i don't think she has done one like that. i think Jana would have been TOO young then. but i will keep thinking. if you remember any lyrics that would help too.
