Name all the Native American boxers you know of past or present?
I know of about 3 Native American Boxers, but only one really stands out, and that's big boy, Joe Hipp. He was good, but not much better than that. He fought for a belt in Vegas in the mid 90's. The fight against Bruce Seldon was stopped due to damage to Hipp's face. The guy looked baaad. I thought he would retire after the fight, but he went on to fight a while. He will always stand out in my mind because I remember seeing him fight on either Tuesday night fights on USA netwwork, or either on Fox, in a bout when he blew out his knee....a basketball, or football injury in the ring...who would have thunk it. He also was handled by Bert Cooper, and Tommy Morrison back in his hey day. The Morrison/Hipp fight was a good fight, both fighters were hurt, a lot of action. If you ever get a chance to see it, it's worth it.

Reply:Josh, don't you think everyone born in the USA is a native of America?
Reply:i am sure there are many what about danny little red lopez
Reply:Billy Petrolle, my friend. I think he was Lakota Sioux(he was from Fargo, North Dakota. Hence his nickname "The Fargo Express"). Used to wear a Navajo blanket into the ring. He's in the hall of fame and considered one of the greatest to never win a world championship. Beat many world champs, though. Crazy Horse would have been proud.
Jack Dempsey was part Irish, part Cherokee.
