Native American name for our daughter, be open minded or don't answer?

I am a Choctaw Indian and we wish to give our daughter a Choctaw name. You may agree or disagree with this but these are the names we considered and we would like to know which do you like best.

Kyntah (Kh-een-tuh) means beaver

Nita (nee-tuh) means bear

Isi (Icee) means feather

Hanan (like Hannah+N) means little eagle

Masheli (Ma-she-leeh) means fair sky

Kana (Kah-na) means grace

Alla (ah-lah) means child

Native American name for our daughter, be open minded or don't answer?
I think keeping heritage in the family is a great thing!! Granted, I may be pronouncing things incorrectly, I really like Masheli and Kana, however, Nita is easier for the rest of us to pronounce correctly the first time. If I had to pick just one, I would pick Masheli. It sounds beautiful and the meaning behind it is also beautiful. I hope this helps!
Reply:All of them are nice. but now days kids are especially cruel and don't truely understand the symbolic meaning behind names...so I would def. rule out Kyntah, even though it's really cute...kids will get ahold of the fact it means beaver and chances are your daughter would get made fun of. I like Kana Ellen.
Reply:I think that any of them would be nice because they mean something to you. There is nothing wrong with honoring your heritage, and anyone who says negative things about them just because they aren't "normal" names needs to get over it.

Anyhow I like Kana and Nita the best!

Good Luck!
Reply:I love these names they are every unique

My favorite from most to least are

Isi

Kana

Kyntah

Masheli

Nita

Hanan

Alla
Reply:Well I think you should rule out Alla since is sounds exactly like Allah which is the name Muslims use for God. Not a good choice.

I like Kana, Masheli, and Nita the best.

Out of those three I think Masheli is the prettiest with the most Native American sound.

Good Luck!
Reply:I really like Isi, it is dainty and beautiful.

I wouldn't name your child Alla, because ALLAH is a muslim religious thing and that would be very controversial.

Nita is pretty and simple, but I still like Isi better.
Reply:Like the first one and last three, really pretty names, but I dont like Nita Isi or Hanan at all.

here is my order from best to not so best

1.Masheli

2.Kana

3.Alla

4.Kyntah

5.Hanan

6.Nita

7.Isi
Reply:I like Isi and Kana the best. There is a type of flower that is really pretty called a canna (pronounced like Kana) lilly. I think thats pretty cool especially since it already has a nice meaning.
Reply:Kyntah is really pretty! good luck and congrats :)
Reply:I like Kana, Nita and Masheli. Those are all pretty! But what would a middle name be? Cause it could help decide.

I knwo someoen who names her dghtr Kamilah ( Ka-MY-lah). I think it is Cherokee decent?
Reply:I would say out of those names, Kana is best. Most of the other names are rather hard to spell/pronounce. Kana Jana or Kana Grace is really cute, I think!

Reply:I like Isi, Hanan, Masheli and Kana.

Reply:I wouldn't go with Alla since Allah is the Muslim word for God.
