i am afraid she will be teased
Reply:No,sorry! That's just asking for your child to be ridiculed!
Reply:well when she starts school i doubt anyone will have the same name. it a lil bit too odd for my taste but its your kid. personally i would suggest something a lil more common
Reply:I don't really like it.
Reply:Wanakee is it pronounce Wa na kee

It's pretty
Reply:Hmm... Not sure if I like it.

My favorite Cherokee Name is Maleta, and it belonged to my Great-Grandmother. Everyone called her "Connie", but this was during a time when people actively discriminated against Native Americans. Not a problem now.

If you are Cherokee yourself, this might be a nice way to honor your heritage. Personally, I'd pair it with a more common middle name in case she hates the name later on. W. Melissa LastName or W. Elizabeth LastName - something that she could use later on as a name by itself.
Reply:I like the name, but it may make things difficult for your child unless you live in an area with a high Native American population.
Reply:No. Are you sure that it's Cherokee? A lot of the baby names websites have the American Indian names wrong.
