Inuit or M茅tis,

Can you name a major North American Native American civilization?
To answer your prime question consider the Iroquois Confederacy of the 1700s. They included the Mohawk, the Oneida, the Onandaga, the Seneca, the Cayuga, and later, the Tuscarora. Through this mighty confederacy, they controlled New York state and other surrounding regions until the Europeans said otherwise.

Secondly, the Toltecs and the Olmecs share a common heritage in the Central American regions.

The Zunis, to correct a previous answer, is not a Nation of the Central America area, but of the Southwest states of Arizona and New Mexico. It is thought that the Zuni are among the descendants of the ancient Anasazi civilization--one that still holds a mystery to us.
Reply:Well, there are several! There are the Aztecs, the Mayans, the Toltecs, and the Zuni, just to name a few.

EDIT: Central America is a part of the continent of North America!

EDIT: I didn't say that the Zunis lived in Central America! I was listing them among the various Native American civilizations of North America!
Reply:One of the oldest North American civilizations were the Clovis people. There were many civilizations. See more below.

Either Google it or Wikipedia it, probably find usable answer

The algonquin nations were a conglomoration of New England tribes...also called the Abenakis.

They were here long before the white men came..but..that being said, the vikings came here long before Columbus...some of the tribes clearly exhibit characteristics of interbreeding with whites.

They existed here at the time of the Anazazi and the Mound people, and they think they predated the NewYork area tribes..
